Swimming Wraps Up 2025 ODAC Championships; Men Earn 3rd, Women Place 4th

Greensboro, Nc. -- The University of Lynchburg men's and women's swim team concluded their ODAC Championship meet Saturday night.

Lynchburg finished third on the men's side with 559 points, behind Roanoke, who scored 604.5, and Washington and Lee. On the women's side, Lynchburg scored 455 points, good for fourth. The Hornets were edged out by Roanoke, who scored 478 points. Randolph-Macon finished in second with 539 points, and Washington and Lee claimed the ODAC Championship with 908.5 points. The Generals have swept the past four swimming ODAC Championships.

The third day was highlighted by freshman Sienna Schmeck setting a school record of 1:54.07 en route to capturing the ODAC title in 200 yd freestyle. Lynchburg's 200 yd medley relay placed fourth with a time of 1:51.36. Madelyn Foreman finished fourth in the 100 yd butterfly at 58.51. Abigail Schneider finished fifth in the 400 yd individual medley with a time of, and freshman Eliza Fleenor finished in fourth in the 100 yd breaststroke.

In the day three preliminaries, freshman Logan Page set a school record in the 400 yd individual medley with a time of 4:04.08. He finished fourth in the finals that evening with a time of 4:05.02. The Hornets opened the finals with a school record in the 200 yd medley relay. The relay, consisting of sophomores Maxi Jacquet and Ryan Bambrick, senior Miles West, and graduate student Will Kasemyer laid down a time of 1:30.47 to take bronze. Jacquet claimed bronze in the 100 yd backstroke with a personal best time of 50.47. 

On the final day, Schmeck swam to her second ODAC title of the meet in 100 yd freestyle with a time of 52.13. Schneider laid down a personal best 2:25.65 in 200 yd breaststroke to take bronze. 

Jacquet set a new personal best of 1:51.37 in 200 yd backstroke to win bronze. Junior Ahmad Woodson and freshman Connor Marshall finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the mile. Woodson swam a 16:23.71, and Marshall swam a 16:32.15. Page finished fourth in the 200 yd breaststroke with a time of 2:04.94.
