Forest, Va. -- Following a stellar week where the University of Lynchburg women's volleyball team notched conference three victories, including a win over the sixth-ranked team in the country in Washington and Lee, Leah DiNardo was awarded the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week award, announced by the league office on Monday.

In all three of the Hornets' triumphs this past week, DiNardo tallied 39 kills and had at least eight in each match. Additionally, she hit over .315 percent in every contest, reaching a top percentage of .448 against Bridgewater.

In a sweep of Randolph, the sophomore racked up eight kills on 14 attempts for a hitting percentage of .357. Against Bridgewater, she finished with 15 kills on just 29 attempts and added four total blocks for a season-best 17.5 points. The next day, the Virginia Beach product threw down 16 terminations on 38 attempts for a .316 hitting percentage to go along with a block assist.

DiNardo becomes the first Hornet to claim a conference player of the week award for the women's volleyball team since 2021 and just the eighth Lynchburg student-athlete to achieve the honor in program history. So far this season, the middle blocker is sixth in the conference standings for hitting percentage, averaging .298 percent across 53 sets. She has tallied 113 kills on 252 attempts. 

As a squad, the Hornets have the best record in program history through 14 games with a 13-1 overall record. Next on the schedule for Lynchburg is a trip to Washington, D.C. to take on Catholic at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 26.
