Williamstown, Mass. -- The University of Lynchburg women's golf team took a trip up north to compete in the Williams Fall Invitational, placing 12th of the 20-team field and finishing the final round on Sunday afternoon.
As a group, the Hornets combined to finish 76 strokes over par to take 12th place. The top squad at the tournament was Amherst, who finished at +19 as a team after two rounds.Â
Individually,
Lily Rowe had the best performance for Lynchburg, placing 32nd overall with a combined score of +13. She shot just two over par in the final 18 holes of the tournament, and eagled on hole 18 on day one.
Grace Saunders was the next top finisher for the Hornets, concluding at 56th place of the 98 player field with a final score of 19 over par.Â
Gabbie Hollberg finished close behind Saunders with one more stroke (+20) for 59th place. Her best hole of the tournament was number 13 on day two, shooting an eagle with just two strokes.
Taylor Park finished at +24 for 64th overall, while
Lily Hollberg placed 86th at +35.
The Hornets will hit the course again when they travel to Farmington, Pa. for the Tartan Invitational from Monday, Oct. 6 through Wednesday, Oct. 8. To view the final results from this past weekend,
