FOREST, Va. — The University of Lynchburg women's golf team delivered a strong performance at the VSGA Women's Intercollegiate Championship, finishing second overall after two days of competition.
The Hornets remained in contention throughout the tournament, putting together consistent rounds to secure the runner-up spot against a competitive field. Lynchburg's depth proved to be a key factor, with multiple players contributing solid scores across both rounds.
Three Lynchburg golfers led the way with notable finishes in the individual standings. Lily Rowe paced the Hornets, finishing tied for the top spot among Lynchburg players with a two-round total of +12 (79-77—156), showing steady improvement with a strong second-round performance.
Grace Saunders and Gabbie Hollberg followed closely, each finishing at +19 (163 total). Saunders posted rounds of 80 and 83, while Hollberg carded 81 and 82, highlighting consistency across both days of play.
Taylor Park also contributed to the team score, finishing at +31 (87-88—175), while Lily Hollberg rounded out the lineup with a total of +42 (90-96—186).
The Hornets prepare for Williamsburg as they look to put up a good fight in the ODAC Championship.
