FRISCO, Texas — The Women's Golf Coaches Association announced Tuesday that University of Lynchburg's Gabbie Hollberg has been selected as the 2025-26 Division III Kim Moore Spirit Award recipient.
Presented annually at the Division I, II and III levels, the award recognizes a student-athlete or coach who demonstrates an exceptional passion for golf, maintains a positive attitude both on and off the course and serves as a role model for her team. Honorees are also recognized for displaying mental toughness while overcoming challenges.
"Gabbie doesn't just show up because it's required—she shows up to lead and be a light for others," said Coach Michael Veverka. "Her ability to find joy in the small things while facing adversity has had an incredible impact on our program. She has been a tremendous example of resilience, selflessness, and positivity, and she embodies the spirit of this award."
The award bears the name of Kim Moore, who competed at the University of Indianapolis from 1999-2003. Moore inspired others throughout her collegiate career by persevering through numerous physical challenges while maintaining her positive outlook, sense of humor and passion for golf.
Moore has continued to make an impact on the sport since concluding her collegiate career. In 2022, she won the inaugural U.S. Adaptive Open, adding another chapter to her legacy within the game.
Hollberg was the lone Division III student-athlete selected for the honor during the 2025-26 academic year.
