Forest, Va. -- Following an emphatic victory over nationally-ranked Juniata on the road, University of Lynchburg women's volleyball student-athlete Mia Hinkamper was named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Defensive Athlete of the Week, announced by the conference office on Monday.

Hinkamper was always there against a tremendous Juniata attack as she totaled 29 digs across four sets of action for a 7.25 average. Her 29 digs were the most for a Lynchburg performer in a four-set match since 2023.

The graduate also had solid showings in straight-set victories over Guilford and Scranton. She tallied 19 digs across six sets of action. The St. Louis, Mo. native is the first Hornet volleyball player to receive an ODAC Athlete of the Week award this season.

The women's volleyball team prepares for its next match against Randolph on the home court of Turner Gymnasium on Friday, October 16 at 5 p.m.
