Greensboro, N.C. -- The University of Lynchburg men's and women's swim teams opened up the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships with a bang, setting program records in both of the 800-yard freestyle relays on day one of the championship event.
The men's and women's 800 freestyle relays were the only events held on day one of the ODAC Championships and both Lynchburg's men's and women's squads set school records. The men's relay team of
Jackson Holsten,
Connor Marshall,
Erik Witt, and
Adam Fisher teamed up for a time of 6:53.66 for third place overall, beating out the previously-set 2021 record by over eight seconds.
The women's group followed up with a time of 7:51.05, which was also just over eight seconds better than the record that was set in the event last year at the 2025 ODAC Championships. This year's group of
Lilly Pifer,
Abigail Schneider,
Regan Leach, and
Sienna Schmeck took fourth place en route to a program record.
The ODAC Championships continue tomorrow morning in Greensboro, N.C. at the Greensboro Aquatic Center starting at 10 a.m. with the men's 500 freestyle preliminaries. To follow along with the action,
