Birmingham, Ala. – The University of Lynchburg indoor track & field teams will face Division III's strongest competitors at the 2026 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by the Southern Athletic Association at the Birmingham CrossPlex on Friday, March 13 and Saturday, March 14.
Heading into the weekend, Lamont Victoria, Chasen Hunt, Micah Leech and Jamarcus Brown each own marks inside the nation's top five for their respective events. Hunt has captured two national titles with the Hornets, including the 2024 men's distance medley relay crown and the 2025 men's outdoor 1,500-meter title.
Last season, the Lynchburg men's team captured its first podium finish in program history, placing fourth with 29 points. All six of Lynchburg's athletes scored points for the team, including second-place finishes by the DMR team and Tor Hotung-Davidsen in the 800-meter run. Hunt finished third in the men's 3,000-meter run.

Director's Debut
Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Mario Wilson will make his second NCAAs appearance with the Hornets after the men's cross country team qualified for the NCAA Championships in the fall. This weekend's competition marks Wilson's first NCAA Track & Field Championships, though Wilson secured his first men's conference title at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships.
First-Time National Qualifiers
Lamont Victoria owns the second seed in the men's high jump and 17th mark in the 60-meter dash entering the NCAA Championships. The senior transfer from Campbell earned three ODAC titles, along with becoming the first Hornet to elevate over seven feet in the men's indoor high jump (7' 1" or 2.16m).
The only seed higher than Victoria in the men's high jump is David Brown's 7' 2 1/4" (2.19m) from Rowan.
Micah Leech owned a top-five mark in the men's heptathlon for the final weeks of the regular season, as he qualified for NCAAs with a 5,086-point performance.
Lastly, Alex Jordan clocked 14:11.47 in the men's 5,000-meter run in Boston to post his second conference record of the season. The sophomore won the ODAC Runner of the Year honor and South Region title to cap the cross country season.
Returning All-AmericansÂ
Jamarcus Brown, Chasen Hunt and Kacey Kelly return to the NCAA Indoor Championships after collecting top-six finishes at the 2025 Championships.
Last season, Brown registered a 6' 9 3/4" (2.08m) performance in the men's high jump to finish sixth in the competition in just his second meet of the season. On the women's side, Kelly claimed third in the women's triple jump with a 40' 6" (12.34m) leap, clinching the conference record.
Both athletes competed for the Lynchburg basketball teams last season. In 2026, Kelly turned her full attention to track & field for the indoor season, while Brown earned ODAC Defensive Player of the Year honors for the men's team.
After earning podium finishes in the DMR and 3,000-meter run last season, Chasen Hunt will solely focus on the 3k at the 2026 NCAA Championships. The senior is a 12-time conference champion and six-time All-American.
He trails Rowan's Seth Clevenger and Cornell College's Isaac vanWestrienen for the fastest time in the nation.Â
