Jekyll Island, Ga. — The University of Lynchburg women's golf team placed 17th at the Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate Invitational, played at Jekyll Island Golf Club – Great Dunes Course.
The three-day tournament featured a deep field of programs and consisted of 54 holes of competition. Lynchburg opened the event with a team score of 331 before improving to 327 in the second round and closing with its best round of the tournament, a 319, to finish with a 977 total.
Lily Rowe turned in the top performance for the Hornets, tying for 53rd overall with a three-round score of 240 (+24). Rowe carded rounds of 84 and 83 before delivering the team's lowest round of the event with a 73 on the final day.
Grace Saunders also contributed a steady showing for Lynchburg, finishing with a 242 (+26) after posting rounds of 82, 80, and 80. Gabbie Hollberg recorded a 246 (+30), highlighted by a first-round 79, while Taylor Park improved her score in each round to finish at 258 (+42) following rounds of 95, 81, and 82.
The Hornets will return to action March 30–31 at the Max and Susan Stith Invitational, set to be played at The Dominion Club.
