Forest, Va. -- After throwing the first no-hitter for the University of Lynchburg baseball team since 2010,
Logan Tapman was named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week, announced by the conference office on Monday.
Against Hampden-Sydney this past Wednesday for the team's Code Red game, Tapman tossed a career-high 13 strikeouts en route to the no-hitter. The senior started the outing on fire, striking out the first three batters and notching eight Ks in the first three innings. His no-hitter is the first for Lynchburg since Ryan McDonough tossed a no-no against Immaculata on Oct. 21, 2010. Lynchburg went on to win the game 11-0 in seven innings.
The Hornets are set to return to the field tomorrow, Tuesday, March 24 at 3:30 p.m. for a road contest against ODAC foe Randolph-Macon.
