Forest, Va. -- University of Lynchburg men's tennis performer
Ricards Spaks was selected as the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Singles Player of the Week, announced by the conference office on Monday.

Chris Johnson said of Spaks: "Ritchie has been playing at a very high level this semester! He has come in and raised the bar in practice and in matches. I'm impressed to see him help lead our team to some strong results this spring and look forward to what's ahead for him and our team goals this spring!"
This past week, Spaks pieced together a couple of impressive wins in the number one spot against a nationally-ranked athlete versus Methodist and at Roanoke. On the road against the Monarchs, the sophomore took No. 37 Matthew Hurley to three sets and outlasted him, 6-4, 2-6, 6-2. He followed up with a commanding 6-1, 6-1 victory over Roanoke's Federico Maccari this past Sunday.
On the season, Spaks touts a 9-1 overall record in singles, all from the number one spot. He boasts a flawless 4-0 record in conference play and has won each of his last six competitions.
The Hornets' men's tennis team prepares for an away outing against Hill City foe Randolph on Wednesday, April 8 at 3 p.m.
