Forest, Va. -- University of Lynchburg men's lacrosse player
Riley Hastings earned his fifth Old Dominion Athletic Conference Offensive Athlete of the Week award of the season, announced by the conference office on Monday.
Hastings claims the honor in back-to-back weeks after a stellar pair of contests against Shenandoah and Hampden-Sydney. In a tight 13-10 competition at Hampden-Sydney, the senior produced a team-leading five points on four goals and one assist. Against the SU Hornets, Hastings tallied a hat trick and dished an apple en route to four points, trailing only
Will Rubley (4g, 2a) in total points for the affair.
On the season, Hastings ranks 22nd in the country and first in the conference for points per game with an average of 5.31 per outing. He leads the Lynchburg offensive unit that is the second-best scoring offense in the country, netting an average of 18.43 goals per game.
The men's lacrosse team prepares for a midweek matchup at the Hill City rival Randolph's place on Wednesday, April 22 at 7 p.m. before closing out the regular season against Washington and Lee at home on Saturday, April 25 at 7 p.m.
