Lynchburg, Va. -- University of Lynchburg men's golfer Alan Van Asch was honored as a member of the College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® Team, announced by the organization on Wednesday afternoon.

Van Asch was selected to the at-large CSC Academic All-America® Second Team based on his elite academic and athletic credentials from this past year. Academic All-America selections are based on all student-athletes that earned Academic All-District accolades and were nominated for the Academic All-America program based on their high-level performance in their respective sport and in the classroom.

Last season, Van Asch was exceptional both on the course and in the classroom. He graduated this year with a degree in Statistics & Data Science and a cumulative GPA of 3.93. On the course, Van Asch was outstanding all season, highlighted by a fifth-place finish at the NCAA National Championship. Throughout the year, he placed within the top 10 individually at four tournaments, including an individual title at the VSGA Intercollegiate Championship. Additionally, he placed third at the ODAC Championship tournament.
