Lynchburg Track & Field Competes at Appalachian State 

BOONE, NC - The Lynchburg College men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Appalachian State Mountaineer Open on Saturday in their first meet since December.

Freshman Caitlin Walton (Richmond, VA/Mills E. Godwin) hit 10 feet in the pole vault. Senior Ashley Allen (Richmond, VA/Hermitage) was fifth in the weight throw with a toss of 14.55 meters. Senior Jessica Gibbs (Lancaster, PA/Penn Manor) ran the 55m hurdles in 9.50 seconds, the 200m in 27.57 seconds and led the 4x4 relay for the women. 

On the men's side, freshman Rachad Davis (Virginia Beach, VA/Ocean Lakes) ran the 55m hurdles in 8.18 seconds. 

Senior Ryan Van Alstine (Midland Park, NJ/Midland Park) ran the 800m in 2:03.18  and sophomore Eric Van Dunk (Mahwah, NJ/Mahwah) threw the shot put 14.15 meters.

 The Lynchburg College track and field teams will host the Hornet Sprints & Jumps Challenge on Wednesday.
