Hornets Compete at Maryland Invitational

LANDOVER, MD – The Lynchburg College men's and women's indoor track and field teams competed Saturday at the Prince George's Invitational hosted by the University of Maryland.
The men's team was paced by senior sprinter Rashard Adams (Ashburn, VA/Stone Bridge) who ran 8.95 in the 60m hurdles and 23.93 in the 200m dash. Junior Tommy Clark (Alexandria, VA/TC Williams) recorded a distance of 14'11" in the pole vault while senior Ryan Van Alstine (Midland Park, NJ/Midland Park) ran 4:27.6 in the mile. Senior John Michael Pavia (Forest, VA/Jefferson Forest) and junior Ralph Davis (Herndon, VA/Oakton) threw distances of 50'11" and 47' in the weight throw respectively.
On the women's side, freshman Caitlin Walton (Richmond, VA/Mills E. Godwin) cleared a distance of 10'6" in the pole vault while junior Christina Washington (Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook) ran a 1:00.57 in the 400m dash. Sophomore Mel McFayden (Ipswich, MA/Ipswich) ran a 1:44.01 in the 600m.
The Lynchburg indoor track & field team compete at the Liberty Asics meet on Friday at Liberty University.
