LEXINGTON, VA – The Lynchburg College men's and women's indoor track and field teams traveled north on Saturday to compete at the Virginia Military Institute.
Sophomore Eric Van Dunk (Mahwah, NJ/Mahwah) narrowly missed joining Lynchburg's all-time list in the shot put with a heave of 47' 6 ¼". John Michael Pavia (Forest, VA/Jefferson Forest) and Ralph Davis (Herndon, VA/Oakton) threw distances of 50'9" and 49'2" respectively, in the weight throw. Joe Oliveri (Nutley, NJ/Nutley) cleared 15'1" in the pole vault and Rashad Davis finished the 55-meter hurdles in 8.10. Kedarrius Bruce leaped 20'8 ½" in the long jump.
Caitlin Walton (Richmond, VA/Mills E. Godwin) paced the women's team with a mark of 10'10" in the pole vault.
The Hornets travel to the University of North Carolina next weekend.
