Flowery Branch, Ga. -- University of Lynchburg men's golf battled to an eighth-place finish at the Royal Lakes Invitational Tuesday afternoon.
The Hornets put together a two-day score of 588 carried by their 289 on Monday. Harrison Smith (69-77--146) led the way on Day 1 with a 69. He tied his career-low single-round score previously carding a 69 at Camp Lejeune last semester. He made five birdies on the front-9 during his career round Monday and ended the first day in a tie for third.
Eddie Coffren V (71-75--146) tied with Smith in 24th. He made an eagle in Round 1. Tate Corbett (75-77-152) and Alan Van Asch (78-72--150) also eagled during the tournament. Corbett tied for 55th, and Van Asch earned a tie for 48th. He was the low man for the Hornets on Day 2 with a 72.
Andrew Watson (74-75--149) turned in five birdies on his way to a T42nd finish.
Ethan Ducharme (80-73--153) participated as an individual in the tournament and tied for 63rd.
