The Hornets (308-280-297--885) turned in a historic round Monday in Round 2 with a 280 which is tied for the third-best team score in program history. Alan Van Asch (74-66-74--214) led the way during Monday's feat with a 66. Van Asch is only the third Hornet to card a 66 and is tied for the third-best single-day score in Lynchburg men's golf history.

Harrison Smith (75-71-73--219) was the next Hornet on the leaderboard in a tie for 24th. He made four birdies on the front-9 Monday as Lynchburg was putting together one its best rounds of all time.

The Hornets showed toughness and resilience as they battled back from a Round 1 score that had them in 23rd place. They moved up 11 spots over the final two rounds thanks in part to the 280 on Monday. Lynchburg finsihed one spot behind top-ranked Christopher Newport and ahead of the other three ODAC schools in the field.
Lynchburg has one more tournament scheduled for the fall. The Hornets tee off in Greensboro, N.C. at the O'Briant-Jensen Memorial on Halloween, Monday, Oct. 31st.
