Pinehurst, N.C. -- The University of Lynchburg men's golf team tied for eighth in the 18-team Tiger Invite Saturday.
Competition concluded after one round due to snowy weather, and the second round was canceled.
Hampden-Sydney hosted the tournament at Forest Creek Golf Club in North Carolina. The Hornets shot 310 on the 6,925-yard, par-72 course.
Alan Van Asch led the way for Lynchburg and tied for fifth. He shot a 74 with two birdies. His 12 pars were tied for the eighth-most across the 92-player field. His fifth-place finish is the best result in his career and second top-10 mark.
Eddie Coffren V and Harrison Smith tied for 19th with 76s. They both made three birdies.
Andrew Watson shot an 84 and Elijah Moore shot an 85.
The Hornets stay on the road for Spring Break and hit Jekyll Island, Ga. for three rounds beginning Friday, March 17.
