Savannah, Ga. -- University of Lynchburg men's golf junior Andrew Watson shot a 70 in Round 2 of the Savannah Invitational on his way for a T23 finish.
The Hornets shot a 918 during the three-round tournament and tied for 12th. Lynchburg went low during Round 2 on Monday with a 299.
Watson (74-70-81--225) submitted a 70 in that round Monday with four birdies. He showed out with the seventh-best performance on the par-4s in the 90-player field.
Eddie Coffren V (74-77-77--228) tied for 33. He made two birdies in Round 1. He shot -1 on the back-9 with eight pars.
Harrison Smith (79-75-75--229) tied for 37th, and Alan Van Asch (78-77-82--237) tied for 67th.
RJ Cupelli (80-77-81--238), playing in his first official tournament with the team this season, tied for 70th.
