FOREST, Va. -- University of Lynchburg men's basketball sophomore forward Jamarcus Brown has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon, Nov. 24.

The Hornets competed in two games this past week at the Chatham University Classic in Pittsburgh, Pa., facing a pair of strong non-conference opponents. Lynchburg split its matchups, earning a convincing 74–60 win over Geneva (Pa.) before narrowly falling 77–74 to host Chatham in a tightly contested battle.

In Lynchburg's first game of the week, Brown played a pivotal role in guiding the Hornets to victory. The sophomore forward delivered a complete two-way performance, recording three steals, three blocks, and five defensive rebounds—half of his team-leading 10 boards on the night. Brown also paced the Hornets offensively with 18 points, securing his second double-double of the season and continuing to establish himself as one of the ODAC's most impactful young players.

Brown carried that momentum into game two of the weekend slate, once again showcasing his early-season dominance. The Danville, Va., native added three more blocks to his growing total and grabbed five additional defensive rebounds. Offensively, he remained remarkably efficient, scoring in double figures for the sixth time this season—one in each of Lynchburg's contests—on an impressive 6-for-9 shooting performance from the field.

This week's honor marks the first ODAC Player of the Week award of Brown's collegiate career and the first such recognition for the Hornets this season. Brown currently stands at second in the ODAC for total blocks (10) and sixth for steals (9). 

Lynchburg returns to action this upcoming weekend, traveling to Fayetteville, N.C., for a Sunday, Nov. 30, matchup against Methodist as the Hornets look to build on Brown's momentum and continue their non-conference campaign.
