Statesboro, Ga. -- The University of Lynchburg women's golf team concluded the South Georgia Invitational, hosted by Berry College, at 10th place of 20 teams, highlighted by junior
Lily Rowe's 10th-place finish.
Rowe moved up 15 spots in after her stellar performance in the second round of the open, finishing just one over par. In the latter round, she had two birdies, just one bogie, and one double bogie. She concluded at +10 after round one, finishing the invitational at +11 overall.
Graduate
Sydney Pickell was the next best finisher for the Hornets, finishing at 45th overall with a +26 final, scoring +15 on day one and +11 on day two. Freshman
Grace Saunders was close behind, ending at 50th overall with a +28 final score after both rounds. She moved up 12 spots after round two with a +10 finish for the day.Â
Sophomore
Madelyn Linares finished at +15 on both days of the invitational to take 57th overall. Senior
Emma Nicol rounded out Lynchburg performers with a +34 finish, scoring +15 on the first day and +19 in the final round.
Next up on the slate for Lynchburg is the Jekyll Island Intercollegiate Golf Championship at the King & Prince Golf Club in St. Simon's Island, Ga., which will take place from Thursday, March 20 through Sunday, March 23.
