Richmond, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg women's golf team had
Lily Rowe and
Grace Saunders place 12th and 18th overall, respectively, at the Max and Susan Stith Invitational, hosted by Randolph-Macon at The Dominion Club.
The Hornets finished the two-round tournament at 12th overall with a final combined score of +71. Rowe highlighted Lynchburg performers with a final score of eight over par throughout the two days, finishing at +4 on each day of the competition. Saunders was close behind, finishing with a +11 overall score.
On the second round of the event, Saunders had a solid 18, finishing just one over par. She concluded round two of the tournament with three birdies and four bogies, staying at par for the remaining 11 holes.
Emma Nicol was the next best finisher for the Hornets, concluding the invitational with a combined scored of +23 over the two days.
Madelyn Linares finished at +29 while
Sydney Pickell rounded out Lynchburg performers with a +36 final score.
Next up for the Hornets is the VSGA Women's Intercollegiate Championship in Lexington, Va. at Lexington Country Club, which will take place from Sunday, April 13 through Tuesday, April 15. Following that will be the ODAC Women's Golf Championship in Nellysford, Va. from Sunday, April 20 through Wednesday, April 23.
