Nellysford, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg women's golf team took home third place at the ODAC Women's Golf Championship on Wednesday at the Stoney Creek Course at Wintergreen Resort.

The Hornets took sole possession of third place in the tournament with a final total score of +110. All five of Lynchburg's performers finished in the top-20 of the field. Washington & Lee claimed the title with a final score of +53, while Randolph-Macon earned second place with a final score of +61. Virginia Wesleyan and Averett rounded out the top five teams with scores of +139 and +163, respectively.

Lily Rowe snagged the ninth overall spot individually with a solid +19 score across the three-round tournament. The junior improved with each round. After finishing the first round at eight over par, she followed with a +6 in round two and a +5 in the final round.

Grace Saunders was close behind and finished in 11th overall at 20 over par. She had the best single-round score on the squad in the second round, finishing just four over par. Both of the other two rounds had her at eight over par at the conclusion of the round.

Emma Nicol slotted in at 19th overall with a score that was 37 over par. Nicol was consistent, claiming a score of 13 over after round one and 12 over in the following two rounds. Nicol also notched an eagle on hole one on the second day of the event. Syndey Pickell and Madelyn Linares both finished tied for 20th overall at +40 for the three rounds. Both Pickell and Linares had their best 18-holes of the tournament on the final day, each concluding at nine over par.

Gabbie Hollberg earned a place on the All-ODAC Third Team, while Sydney Pickell was named to the ODAC Sportsmanship Team.
