Norman, Okla. -- The University of Lynchburg men's golf team had student-athletes
Ben Chamberlin and
Alan Van Asch named 2024-25 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars for NCAA DIII, announced on Tuesday by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
To be eligible for a Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be at least a sophomore both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate's degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 79.0 in NCAA Division III, and maintain a cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2-or-better. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
Van Asch lands on the All-America Scholar list for the second consecutive season. This past season, the junior earned a spot on the All-ODAC Second Team and completed the season with an average score of 72.8. Sophomore Chamberlin gets his first nod as an All-America Scholar and wrapped up his second season with the Hornets with an average score of 74.5, placing top-20 in two tournaments.
