Lynchburg, Va. – Seven individuals posted top-25 performances at the Liberty Open on Friday as the University of Lynchburg indoor track & field teams battled Division I competition across town.
Senior transfer Lamont Victoria posted a pair of historic results in his third meet with the Hornets, including a 6' 10¾" (2.10m) men's high jump performance to tie David Lichtenstein's indoor school record and secure the top position on the Division III qualifying lists.
Victoria also posted the second-fastest 60m time in program history, crossing the line in 6.81 for third overall in prelims and eighth in DIII. While the senior did not compete in finals, he helped the Lynchburg men's 4x400m relay team to a ninth-place 3:26.64 effort.
Chasen Hunt posted a 4:05.99 time in the men's mile invite to place second overall and register the second-fastest performance in DIII. Hunt also finished fifth in the men's 800m invite, clocking 1:55.25.
Friday marked Hunt's first performance in a Hornets uniform since the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. After spending the fall semester at the University of North Carolina, Hunt transferred to Lynchburg where he boasts the opportunity to add to his two national titles.
