FOREST, Va. -- The University of Lynchburg women's tennis tandem of
Isadora Lima and
Kayla Kosiorek has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Doubles Pair of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
The Hornets competed in three matches over the past week at the Spring Tennis Fest in Hilton Head, S.C. Lynchburg claimed victories in all three contests, defeating Clark 7-0, Lebanon Valley 4-3, and Gordon 6-1.
In their first match of the week, Lima and Kosiorek tallied a 6-1 win in their doubles matchup against Clark en route to the dominant Lynchburg victory. The pair also competed in singles, winning each of their bouts while not allowing more than two games to their opponent in either set.
Against Lebanon Valley, the pair secured a critical doubles victory for the Hornets in a decisive 6-1 fashion. In their singles matchups, Lima captured a two-set sweep, while Kosiorek claimed the opening set in the No. 2 singles match before ultimately falling in a tiebreaker.
The dominance from the Lynchburg doubles pair continued into the final match of the week, as the duo earned another win in 6-2 fashion against Gordon. Kosiorek also picked up a two-set sweep in her No. 2 singles match.
The Hornets resume action this weekend, hosting Southern Virginia on Saturday, March 14.
