WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The University of Lynchburg men's golf team competed at the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate at the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club at Williamsburg VA, finishing fifth overall with a three-round total of 885 (+33).
The Hornets opened the tournament with a 295, followed by another 295 in round two, before closing with a 295 in the final round.
Cooper Mizelle led Lynchburg, finishing tied for 21st overall with a three-round score of 221 (+8). He posted consistent rounds of 73, 73, and 75.
Alan Van Asch and Joey Easmeil were next for the Hornets, each placing tied for 36th overall at 224 (+11). Van Asch recorded rounds of 75, 76, and 73, while Easmeil turned in scores of 75, 74, and 75.
Dylan Olinger also finished tied for 36th with a total of 224 (+11), carding rounds of 72, 76, and 76.
Ben Chamberlin rounded out the Lynchburg lineup, placing tied for 45th overall with a 225 (+12) total. He opened with an 81 before rebounding with rounds of 72 and 72.
Carnegie Mellon took first place with a total of 854 (+2), followed by Methodist with a 862 total (+10) and Kenyon finishing third with a total of 872 (+20).
The Hornets prepare for Amherst VA for the Code Red ODAC Championship at Poplar Grove Golf Club.
