LYNCHBURG, Va. --  The University of Lynchburg men's golf team placed fifth at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship at Poplar Grove Golf Club, completing three rounds against the league's top competition.

Alan Van Asch led the Hornets with a third-place individual finish, closing the tournament at +1. He capped his week with an even-par 72 in the final round, the top finish among Lynchburg golfers.

In the opening round, Lynchburg was paced by Cooper Mizelle and Dylan Olinger, who each carded rounds of 72 (E). Mizelle used a 33 on the back nine to secure his even-par effort, while Olinger matched the team's low score with a steady performance. Van Asch followed with a 73 (+1), and Ben Chamberlin rounded out the counting scores with an 81 (+9).

Van Asch again led the Hornets in round two with a 78 (+6). Mizelle added an 80 (+8), while Olinger posted an 81 (+9). Joey Easmeil entered the scoring group with an 82 (+10) to complete the four counting scores.

In the final round, Van Asch anchored Lynchburg with a 72 (E). Olinger followed with a 73 (+1), while Mizelle and Easmeil each carded rounds of 80 (+8) to close out the championship.

Across the three rounds, Van Asch delivered the most consistent performance for Lynchburg with scores of 73-78-72. Mizelle recorded one of the Hornets' lowest rounds of the tournament with his opening-round 72, while Olinger contributed two counting rounds, including an even-par performance on day one and a 73 in the final round.

The Hornets finished fifth in the team standings, turning in a balanced effort across all three days of competition.
