CHAPEL HILL, NC – The Lynchburg College indoor track and field teams competed Saturday at the Dick Taylor Invitational hosted by the University of North Carolina.
John Michael Pavia (Forest, VA/Jefferson Forest) improved his distance in the weight throw, recording a heave of 53'1" Saturday. Ryan Van Alstine (Midland Park, NJ/Midland Park) ran a time of 8:34 in the 3,000, putting him second on the Hornet all-time list. James Bell (Huddleston, VA/Staunton River) cleared 15'3" in the pole vault, Nolan Compton (Manassas, VA/Osbourn Park) finished the mile in 4:27.30 while Patrick Cobb ran a 2:03.91 in the 800 meters.
Christina Washington (Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook) took second in the 400-meter dash, while Jasmyne Johnson (Louisa, VA/Louisa County) finished the event in 1:01.89. Ashley Allen (Richmond, VA/Hermitage) threw the shot put 38'9 ½' while Jennie Pernisi (Camden, NY/Altmar-Parish-Williamstown) and Krystal Foster (Islandia, NY/St. John the Baptist) ran times of 2:25.32 and 2:30.62, respectively, in the 800.
Lynchburg is off until hosting the 2011 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Indoor Championships Friday, February 25 at Liberty University.
