With a 16-3 record, the 1973 Lynchburg College men's soccer team set a program record for wins in a season that would last until 2009.

The team won Dixie Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and NAIA District 29 championships, and coach Bill Shellenberger was named DIAC coach of the year.
