University of Lynchburg

Dr. M. Carey Brewer '49 was president of Lynchburg College from 1964 to 1983 and is regarded as one of the greatest builders of the institution's history. That reputation extended to athletics, as Lynchburg's flagship facilities, Turner Gymnasium and Wake Field House, were constructed during his tenure.

He passed away in 2015.
