Lynchburg Sports Hall of Fame
A two-time All-American and a significant piece of the 2008 Lynchburg softball squad that appeared in the NCAA World Series, Brittany Allsop left a great impact on the Lynchburg community. She was a three-time honoree on All-ODAC and All-State teams, and was selected to All-Region teams in her final two seasons with the Hornets. From 2007 through 2009 - all teams that Brittany Allsop played a role on - the Lynchburg softball squad claimed three straight ODAC Championship titles and advanced to the NCAA tournament. The 2007 season represented the program’s first appearance in the national tournament. In 2009, Allsop’s final year at Lynchburg, she was awarded the ODAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year award. Throughout her four-year stint, Allsop totaled a .378 batting average, 67 RBI, 49 stolen bases, 192 hits and 161 runs scored.
