The 1997 Lynchburg College women's soccer posted a 19-2-1 record on its way to the program's first-ever Old Dominion Athletic Conference championship and NCAA Division III tournament appearance.

The season marked the first time LC saw multiple players named all-region as Karen O'Connor, Kristen Kowit, Kaprece Smith, Eileen Flynn, and Kerrie Swarts all earned the honor. O'Connor was named the co-ODAC player of the year after setting program records for goals (25), assists (14), and points (64) in a season. Smith's .901 save percentage and 11 shutouts in goal were also program single-season bests at the time.

The Hornets' 19 victories were a program record at the time, and the team's records of 14 goals and 13 assists September 9 vs. Emory & Henry still stand.
