Dr. Todd Olsen arrived at Lynchburg in 1994 and built the Hornets' women's soccer program into a national powerhouse in NCAA Division III. In 2014, he guided the Hornets to a national championship as the team defeated Williams College in penalty kicks for the title.

His teams have won 16 Old Dominion Athletic Conference titles and reached the NCAA tournament 19 times, and he has mentored more than a dozen All-Americans and 150 All-ODAC performers.

Olsen serves as a faculty member in the health promotion and master's in public health programs and has enhanced the institution's service-learning and study abroad efforts with trips to Kenya, Uganda, Costa Rica, and Argentina with the Sports Outreach Institute. He is also a member of the College Sports Information Directors of America's Academic All-America Hall of Fame and the athletics hall of fame at his alma mater, Slippery Rock University.
