Dr. Jacqueline W. Asbury was Lynchburg College's first chair of the Department of Health, Movement Science, and Recreation and later Dean of the College.

She also coached just about every women's sport at LC but most notably led the women's basketball and volleyball programs. She coached three varsity seasons of volleyball, leading the Hornets to a 46-37-1 record.
