Special Citation - 2025 Men’s Track & Field 1,500-Meter National Championship

The owner of the fastest outdoor track and field mile time in NCAA Division III history, Tor Hotung-Davidsen claimed the 2025 individual national championship title in the 1,500-meter race. Running alongside fellow Hornet Sam Llaneza, the 2024 outdoor national champion in the 1,500-meter rac
e, the pair sat in the middle of the pack for the first two laps, inching into third and fourth place with 800 meters remaining. The field's pedestrian pace opened the door for Hotung-Davidsen to close quickly within the final lap, accelerating with a 55-second 400 meters to clinch the national crown. Hotung-Davidsen cemented his first individual title after finishing as the runner-up two times in the men's 800m run at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
