The 2001 Lynchburg College field hockey team won the Old Dominion Athletic Conference title and reached the NCAA Division III tournament quarterfinals, finishing with a 21-2 record. The Hornets were a perfect 9-0 in ODAC play.

Linda Jack earned All-America honors from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association, leading a cohort of five All-ODAC performers. Jack's record-breaking 19 assists stood until 2018, as did her single-game mark of five assists.

Head coach Enza Steele was named the ODAC and VaSID All-State coach of the year.

The team's 84 goals and 63 assists were both program records at the time, and goalie Chrissy Sokol's 0.62 goals against average still sits atop the record book.
