University of Lynchburg

Lawson "Slick" Andrews '63 was an All-American catcher for Lynchburg's baseball team in 1963 and went on to play professionally in the Philadelphia Phillies organization.

He later coached baseball, football, and golf and was the athletic director at his alma mater, Gretna High School. Andrews is a member of the Pittsylvania County Sports Hall of Fame.
