The 1991 Lynchburg College men's cross country team brought the program back to national prominence, beginning a string of three straight NCAA South/Southeast Region titles for the program to go with a fourth-straight Old Dominion Athletic Conference championship.

Gregg Cavaliere won the region championship and set a new program record at the NCAA Division III national meet in Newport News, traversing the 8-kilometer course in 24:52, a mark that would hold until 2009. Cavaliere finished ninth at nationals to earn All-America status, and Jim Adams was also an All-American that year, finishing 35th.

Cavaliere, Adams, John Cardwell, and Matt Richards all finished in the top five at the region meet. Cavaliere also won the ODAC individual title.

The team placed 13th at nationals, the highest finish ever by an ODAC program at the championship meet.
