The national champions enter the Hall of Fame as only the second Lynchburg team to win an NCAA national championship in the school's history. The Hornets won a conference-best 48 games in 2023, the program's 10th ODAC title, and made the conference's first appearance in the NCAA championship series. The pitching staff boasted the lowest ERA in the country with two All-American hurlers, and the offense averaged over eight runs a game with 34 home runs.
