The 1976 Lynchburg College baseball team played to a 30-7 record, a single-season wins mark that would hold up until 2008.

The Hornets hit 35 triples as a team, and the pitching staff allowed just 59 walks, both records that still stand.

Randy Thomas and Jim White both earned All-America honors for their efforts. Several members of the team set program records -- Thomas in stolen bases (24), future Major Leaguer Jack Hobbs in fewest hits allowed (15), and Dewey Oakes in walks (34) -- all of which have since been broken.
